Encore un verre, une cigarette...

Jane Birkin played Toronto for the first time ever on Monday night and I reviewed it in today's paper. The headline makes it sound like I dislike Birkin's voice, which isn't true. I actually think it's very pretty, just not very strong.
Plenty of other things to get to soon.

Tactfully dismissive. I love your writing when it does this. With a hint of envy...cheers...
The unannounced opening act, local lounge pianist Robert Scott, seemed superfluous to an already lengthy show, even aside from his penchant for cheesy adornment. (His Liberace-esque version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah was near blasphemy, though his Philip Glass and Jelly Roll Morton bits were fine.)
